This year’s Kids Go Free promotion has been extended from two to four weeks.
Essentially, all children that own a Leap Card (aged 5 – 18) can now travel freely on Leap Card services, provided they present a Child Leap Card with at least 1 cent credit upon boarding.
The initiative starts from Monday, 1 July and it will last until Sunday, 28 July.The initiative covers most journeys, such as:
Speaking about the announcement, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, has said: “The past Kids Go Free campaigns run by the National Transport Authority have been hugely successful in mobilising our youth during the summer, and this initiative aims to build on that success.
“Local businesses, cultural events, and other attractions will benefit from this campaign as well. When families are saving money on public transport, they will have more freedom to enjoy everything Ireland has to offer in the summer.”
Customers can get a Child Leap Card online at leapcard.ie (details available here) or from one of 650 payzone agents nationwide.
