Chocolate raisins recalled by two major Irish supermarkets over peanut allergy fears

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued an alert over chocolate covered-raisins.

The FSAI has warned that SuperValu and Centra are issuing a recall over their chocolate raisins after one box was found to be contaminated with chocolate peanuts. As a precaution, their chocolate peanuts are also being recalled.

According to the FSAI warning, “Chocolate covered peanuts were found in a tub of product labelled as Chocolate Covered Raisins. This may make the above products unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of peanuts.

“As a precaution, SuperValu and Centra are recalling all current batches of the implicated raisin products, together with their products labelled as Chocolate Covered Peanuts in 325g tubs.” All batches are to be treated as if they are affected, regarded of use-by date.
