The city of Manchester has pulled together following last night’s horrific attack outside of an Ariana Grande concert.

The attack at the conclusion of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena on Monday night left 22 people confirmed dead and a further 59 injured.

Children are among those killed in the attack, as 21,000 people, many of them young girls and boys, attended the gig.

Police confirmed that a lone man, who was also killed in the blast, detonated an improvised explosive device at the arena.

They said it had all the hallmarks of a terrorist attack designed to cause maximum damage.

Footage below shows the scenes outside the stadium as terrified people filed out of the stadium following the explosion outside.

Hashtag #roomformanchester was set up following the attack which left many people stranded in the city centre. It came with offers of help for stranded and injured concertgoers as well as places to stay for those with no way home.

The Manchester Evening News said that several hotels and venues in the city centre were offering spaces to look after people who were left stranded in the area after all trains from Manchester were cancelled.

Taxi drivers were reportedly offering free lifts home to people stranded in the area last night.
