Well done Timmy Dooley.
Elected representatives in Ireland are expected to serve their constituents and serve them well, but Clare TD Timmy Dooley went above and beyond the call of duty in Ennis earlier today.
The Fianna Fáil TD revealed on Twitter that he gave chase to a hooded man who stole a lady’s handbag in Ennis.
Just gave chase to a hooded man who robbed a lady's handbag in Ennis – got the bag but he got away #partialresult

Unfortunately the thief got away, but Dooley was glad to be able to return the handbag to the lady in question.
The kudos Timmy received afterwards was certainly well-earned.

@Claredaisy I had a navy tie and dark jacket on – she probably assumed I was a guard ;)!

Let this be a lesson to all of those up to no good in Clare; no criminal is safe with Timmy Dooley around.
Hat-tip to Stephen McDermott for the heads up on this one
