A body has been recovered from the sea near Doolin in County Clare this morning, following a nearly week-long search for a missing 12-year-old boy.
The body was recovered about 3km northwest of Doolin in Galway bay by members of the Doolin Coast Guard Unit and the Aran Islands lifeboat unit.
The alarm was raised at around 10am when the skipper of a pleasure craft reported seeing something in the water.
According to RTÉ, the body will be brought to University Hospital Limerick, where official identification and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The Irish Coast Guard confirmed that the search for the missing boy has now been suspended.

The boy, believed to be visiting the country with his family, had been missing since Tuesday, July 26.
His heartbroken family raised the alarm on Tuesday, and the search entered its sixth day this morning.
The family was reportedly on holiday in Ireland and they became separated during their visit to the Cliffs of Moher.
The search covered land, air, and sea and several drones were deployed on Thursday afternoon to help.
The Coast Guard, Gardaí, Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 115, and the Aran Islands RNLI boat were all involved.
The search comes after Armagh teenager Lochlann Murray sadly passed away after falling at the Cliffs of Moher in early July.
A 20-year-old woman also lost her life after losing her footing in May.
