Clip of Hancock saying Covid adviser should resign after affair goes viral

Kieran Galpin

An alleged affair by Hancock was reported on Friday morning.

After The Sun reported on the alleged affair of Matt Hancock, the world has criticised his seemingly blatant disregard for the rules and called out his hypocrisy.

A video has now resurfaced from May last year when Hancock slammed a Covid adviser for his affair.

Hancock can be seen in the image to be passionately embracing his aide, with his hands looped around her back.

‘It’s extraordinary. I don’t understand… Prof Ferguson is a very, very eminent and impressive scientist,” said Hancock to Sky News.

Hancock goes as far as to say that it “would not be possible” for Neil Furguson to keep his job. The irony has not been lost on social media, with many calling for Hancock to make a similar decision. Hancock also asked Brits to avoid casual sex during the pandemic.

Earlier this afternoon, Hancock apologised for his apparent indiscretions, writing:

“I accept that I breached the social distancing guidance in these circumstances. I have let people down and am very sorry. I remain focused on working to get the country out of the pandemic, and would be grateful for privacy for my family on this personal matter.”

Boris Johsnon accepted his apology, and now “considers the matter closed”.
