Gardaí appealing for witnesses after pedestrians hit by car on footpath in Dublin

The pedestrians, a man and a woman in their 50s, were left with serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious road traffic collision in Dublin on Saturday night (6 March).

The collision occurred on Drumfinn Road, Ballyfermot, in Dublin 10 at approximately 8.40pm.

Two vehicles collided at the junction of Drumfinn Road and Drumfinn Avenue, causing one vehicle to lose control.

The vehicle collided with two pedestrians who were walking on the footpath.

The two pedestrians (a man and woman, aged in their 50s) were seriously injured as a result of the collision.

They were taken to St James’s Hospital where they continue to receive treatment for their injuries.

Any person who was on Drumfinn Road on Saturday evening between 8.15pm and 8.40pm is being asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

Similarly, any road users who were travelling in the area of Drumfinn Road and Drumfinn Avenue at this time and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage, is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
