Major traffic diversions have been put in place this evening as a result.
Gardaí in Pearse Street are investigating a four car collision that took place at Wellington Quay on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred outside the Clarence Hotel on Wellington Quay at 2.10pm and the scene was attended by Gardaí and emergency services shortly afterwards.
Involved in the collision was a taxi, a BMW and an official Garda car. The taxi driver and BMW driver were both attended to, and three people were subsequently taken to hospital.

As of 5.45pm, AA Roadwatch warned that a portion of the South Quay is still closed between Burgh Quay and Wood Quay with Gardaí redirecting traffic.
In addition, the College Green traffic ban has been temporarily lifted for outbound traffic, but AA has advised motorists to avoid the area if possible.

A number of Dublin Bus services have also been diverted as a result, with the changes detailed on their website here.
