Garda have released some details of the incident which took place on Sunday evening.
A man in his 20s is reported to have been shot and said to be in a very serious condition, which took place in Dublin 5.
As per the Garda press release sent out on Sunday evening:
Gardaí in Coolock are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the Moateview area of Coolock this evening the 25th February 2018.
The shooting occurred at approximately 8.15pm this evening at Moateview Gardens a male was seriously injured in the incident.
The male is still at the scene being treated by the emergency services. His injuries are described as very serious.
No further information at this stage.
