Coppers made a fair amount of cash this year

Paul Moore

You might know someone that contributed to this figure.

When asked the reason why you missed that 9am lecture, the answer is usually Coppers. In fact, for some people, it’s the answer to many a question.

The nightclub on Harcourt Street has provided the Irish public with plenty of interesting tales down the years, we especially love this text and the story about Thomas Barr bringing his granny to the place, and business is booming in the popular venue.

New accounts for the company have revealed that the firm who operate Coppers have reached pre-tax profits of €5 million this year. To put that into perspective, it’s €97,657 per week.

Maybe that’s the exact figure that you spend behind the bar on a good night?

According to The Independent, the firm’s gross profit – that which includes ‘other operating income’ –  rose by 8.6pc, representing an increase from €10.45m to €11.35m.

That could get you a lot of Jägerbombs.
