Cork TD’s constituency office graffitied with words ‘Baby Killer’, ‘Blood Money’ and ‘Kill’

The Cork North Central constituency voted 64.02% to 35.98% to repeal the Eighth Amendment.

The constituency office of Cork North Central TD Mick Barry has been vandalised with graffiti referring to him as a “baby killer” over his pro-choice views in relation to abortion. The Anti-Austerity Alliance deputy took to Twitter to share the images of his office, on which the words 'Baby Killer' had been spray painted on the front of the office in Blackpool late on Friday night. https://twitter.com/MickBarryTD/status/1002887267218751489 https://twitter.com/MickBarryTD/status/1002870952521293825 The Solidarity TD has been vocal, since the referendum's Yes vote passing, in insisting that the Irish Government should move ahead quickly and introduce legislation to give effect to the referendum result. Back in September 2016, Barry's constituency office was yet again daubed with graffiti referring to him as a “baby killer” over his pro-choice views in relation to abortion. Last Saturday, Ireland voted to repeal the Eighth Amendment and thus remove Article 40.3.3 from the Constitution by a popular vote of 66.4%. Taoiseach Leo Varadkar hailed the move as Ireland's "quiet revolution". "The people have spoken. They have said we need a modern constitution for a modern country," he said.
