The latest Covid figures have been released.
Eight further Covid-19 deaths have been confirmed, as well as 329 new cases.
There has now been a total of 2,134 Covid-related deaths in Ireland, while 76,776 cases have been confirmed.
86 of Tuesday's cases are in Dublin, 41 are in Louth, 34 are in Donegal, 25 are in Limerick, 17 are in Kildare and the remaining 126 cases are spread across another 20 counties.
As of 2pm today, 196 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised across the country, of which 31 are in the ICU.
13 additional hospitalisations have occurred in the past 24 hours.
64% of today's cases are people under 45 years of age, with the median age being 37 years.
162 are men, while 166 are women.
Earlier on Tuesday it was reported that 486 further individuals in Northern Ireland have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
Sadly, a further six deaths were also reported up north (though three of these deaths were outside the 24 hour period).
Tuesday also saw a number of developments with regards to the rollout of a Covid vaccine, with
Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly saying that it could be distributed at a very low level in Ireland before the end of the year.
