115 new cases of the deadly virus have been confirmed in Ireland.
11 more people in Ireland have sadly died in connection with Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,592.
The 115 new cases that were confirmed brings the total number of cases in the Republic to 24,506.
This is the first time in a week where the number of newly-confirmed cases is in triple digits.
The figures released by the Department of Health on Friday night found that 7,791 cases are currently associated with healthcare workers.
The median age of confirmed cases is 48 years.

47.5% of people had no underlying condition
21.4% had one

Chief Medical Officer Doctor Tony Holohan was in attendance after missing the two previous daily briefings.
He said: “Today NEPHET recommended that the HSE build on the very significant work to date in expanding the testing capacity, to ensure that there is an integrated and coordinated clinical and public-health informed approach to the establishment and implementing of a national testing strategy.”
It was also announced by Simon Harris that those who enter the country will have to self-quarantine for 14 days, or else they will face a penalty.
From next week, anyone coming into the country will have to fill out a passenger location form and it will be an offence not to fill out the form.
