Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a crash that occurred on the quays in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred outside the Clarence Hotel on Wellington Quay and the scene was attended by Gardaí and emergency services shortly afterwards, where a taxi driver and the driver of a BMW involved in the crash were both attended to.

Gardaí have asked motorists and members of the public to avoid the area if possible.

AA Roadwatch have advised that the South Quays are closed between Burgh Quay and Grattan Bridge due to the collision.

A diversion is in place but motorists should avoid the area altogether if possible as traffic is heavy.

A number of Dublin Bus services have also been diverted as a result.
