Crime boss John Gilligan is shot in the chest in Clondalkin, injuries are ‘not life threatening’

Crime boss John Gilligan has reportedly been shot in Clondalkin on Saturday evening.

The incident took place in the Greenfort Crescent estate in Clondalkin shortly after 7pm, and it is believed that Gilligan was shot in the chest.

Gardaí are still at the scene of the shooting, with a spokesperson telling JOE.ie:

“Two armed men entered the house and fired a number of shots. The shots hit a male in the body before the assailants left the scene in an unidentified car.

“He was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.”

Gilligan is said to have been at the home of a close relative at the time of the shooting.
