A cyclist in his 40s has died after a fatal single-car crash in Cork

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal, single-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at Meadstown in Kildorrery in Cork at approximately 6.20pm on Saturday evening.

A male cyclist aged in his 40s received treatment at the scene following the incident, however, he was later pronounced dead.

The body of the man was then taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will now take place.

The scene is set to remain closed on Sunday morning while a technical examination takes place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have video, including dashcam footage to make this available to them.
