Cyclist dies after being hit by a car in Limerick

Awful news.

Gardaí have confirmed that they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Ballycullane, Kilmallock, Co Limerick at approximately 8pm on Sunday night (25 November).

According to a spokesperson from An Garda Síochána, a male cyclist in his 40s was fatally injured when he was involved in a collision with a car. tThe injured man was taken to Limerick University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Neither the name of the deceased nor the driver of the car have been named by Gardaí.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
