Homenews

A DART train partially derailed close to Bray station on Tuesday night with around 30 passengers narrowly avoiding injury.

The train hit boulders on the line close to a tunnel, with Irish Rail revealing that the four-carriage train stayed upright despite suffering some damage. Barry Kenny, a spokesperson for Irish Rail said that, "we are very grateful that there was no injuries resulting from this incident (and) we will be reviewing it, obviously." Trains were delayed early on Wednesday morning but Iarnród Eireann announced that the Bray to Greystones line would reopen around 10am.
