Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene.
The Department of Health was evacuated on Monday morning following the delivery of a suspicious package to its premises in Dublin.
Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene on Baggot Street Lower and to help with their investigation, the road has been closed. Motorists are advised to expect delays and traffic disruption in the area.
Dublin Fire Brigade also advised that while the incident is of a HazMat (hazardous materials) nature, there is no danger to the public and all resources are in place to resolve it.

In a statement to JOE, An Garda Síochána said that Dublin Fire Brigade are at the scene and have control of the site. Gardaí are also at the scene controlling traffic and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is to inspect the premises.
Shortly before 2pm on Monday, the Department of Health confirmed that their office building would not be open for some time and that staff had been told to go home as a result.
We have been informed by emergency services that our office building will not be reopened for some time. All staff should now go home today and monitor this account for further updates.
