Digger used to steal ATM from the wall of a bank in Cavan

We’re sure you’ve all got your Cavan jokes at the ready but let’s try behave ourselves, shall we?

An Garda Síochána has confirmed that they are appealing for witnesses following the theft of an ATM from the wall of a bank at Main Street, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan at 4am on 10th March 2019.

According to a spokesperson for the organisation, Gardaí were called to the scene at around 4am on Sunday morning (10 March).

On arrival they discovered that a “large digger” had been used to remove the ATM from the bank. The ATM was placed on a trailer being towed by a light coloured large four wheel drive vehicle (SUV). This vehicle left the scene in the direction of Carrickmacross.

So far no arrests have been made as part of the investigation.

The scene is now sealed off to facilitate an technical examination of the area by Garda Crime Scene Examiners.
