Paul Kelly, the founder of Console, will be in court today with his wife Patricia as they attempt to get access to a savings account with just under €7,000 in it.
Kelly, who spent up to €1m of the suicide charity's funds on a lavish lifestyle that included
designer clothes, cars, foreign holidays and Rugby World Cup tickets, and his wife have seen the savings account frozen.
They must prove that the funds came from somewhere other than Console, which was wound up after the scandal, with
Pieta House stepping in to take over the organisation.
According to
Newstalk, the couple must provide a sworn affidavit to Mr Justice Paul Gilligan today to show that the money belongs to them and not to Console.
The Kellys reportedly have living expenses of just under €400-a-week - excluding mortgage payments.
