It will take viewers inside Tallaght University Hospital where staff face enormous challenges everyday.
A documentary on Ireland's third wave of Covid-19 is will air on RTÉ tonight.
It will aim to explore to reveal "the true picture behind the ongoing headlines and daily numbers", showing the Irish doctors and nurses fighting to keep Covid patients alive in the current third wave.
Going behind-the-scenes, the documentary reveals patients and staff confronting what is, for many, "the greatest challenge of their lives".
The increased spread of the virus during December left hospitals facing a massive spike in the number of cases requiring critical care by the end of the month.
By mid-January, ICUs were full with many hospitals forced to use their surge capacity, in Tallaght University Hospital some operating theatres were converted into ICU wards.
The documentary will also look at how medical approaches to treating Covid-19 patients have changed significantly, a year on from the beginning of the outbreak.
It will show Tallaght University Hospital at what is potentially the busiest it has ever been, at a time when the pressure on bed space was "relentless".
