LIVE: Latest news as Donald Trump lands in Ireland

Here's everything you need to know.

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Ireland for his two-day visit, meeting with Irish President Catherine Connolly.

The trip is not part of an official state visit. The US President owns the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, in Co Clare. The venue is hosting the 2026 Amgen Irish Open tournament this weekend, which he will attend.

That said, Trump is set to take part in several political meetings in Dublin on Saturday (12 September), ahead of travelling to Clare.

Here is a short breakdown of the US President's itinerary while he is in Ireland:

A meeting with the US Ambassador to Ireland at his official residence in Phoenix Park
A short trip to Áras an Uachtaráin for a brief meeting with Irish President Catherine Connolly, who has been very critical of Trump in past comments you can read about here
A meeting with Taoiseach Micheál Martin at Farmleigh House, also at Phoenix Park
At lunchtime, he will travel from Phoenix Park to Dublin Airport, where he will fly to Shannon Airport to attend the Irish Open
He is expected to leave from Shannon Airport on Sunday evening

The public have been warned to expect restrictions on traffic and movement throughout the weekend, particularly in Doonbeg and Dublin.

Many are also expected to attend demonstrations in Dublin protesting the US president's visit. A protest will also be held in Doonbeg.
