Fox News, NBC and Facebook have pulled a Donald Trump campaign advert that has been widely condemned as racist.

Facebook pulled the ad on Monday stating that it would no longer allow Donald Trump to run advertisements urging people to vote for Republicans to stop immigrants entering the country.

“This ad violates Facebook’s advertising policy against sensational content so has been rejected,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.

“While the video is allowed to be posted on Facebook, it cannot receive paid distribution.”

The 30 second anti-immigration advert, was paid for by the Donald Trump for President campaign, aired during an NFL game on NBC on Sunday night and on Fox News.

“Stop the caravan. Vote Republican. I’m Donald Trump, and I approve this message,” the ad says.

Critics had condemned the ad saying it’s false and inflammatory, and CNN refused to broadcast a longer version, calling it racist.

“CNN has made it abundantly clear in its editorial coverage that this ad is racist. When presented with an opportunity to be paid to take a version of this ad, we declined. Those are the facts,” CNN tweeted.

But NBC put it up during “Sunday Night Football before releasing a statement.

“After further review we recognise the insensitive nature of the ad and have decided to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible,” NBCUniversal said in a statement.
