Donald Trump routed on Twitter by a senator from his own party

Carl Kinsella

Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee made it onto Trump’s list last week when he said that Chief of Staff John Kelly, Defense Secretary James Mattis and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson are all that was standing between the USA and chaos.

The White House quickly hit back and said that, in fact, President Trump is the one “keeping the world from chaos.”

Trump then decided to prove his commitment to keeping the world from chaos by launching into a tirade against Corker on his own Twitter account. Trump claimed that Corker, who recently announced that he would not be seeking re-election to the Senate, had begged from Trump’s endorsement and dropped out because he declined.

Corker, a Republican, then hit back at the President from his own party, writing “It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”

We didn’t think that Donald Trump needed any more enemies, but it seems as though he’s found another in Corker.

Republicans currently hold a meagre two seat majority in the Senate, a situation which has seen them fall short of being able to pass healthcare legislation since they can afford to lose so few votes. With Bob Corker in the Senate until the end of 2018, the last thing the Republican Party is a senator who doesn’t feel like helping out the president’s agenda.
