Dublin Airport named best in UK & Ireland, but not the best in the world

Dublin Airport has placed 21st in a ranking of 141 global airports by AirHelp.

This was enough to see Dublin Airport climb to the top of the pile compared to all the other airports in the UK and Ireland. The main reasons for Dublin’s top-level performance were its high marks in both on-time performance (8.35/10) and quality of service, where it scored a cool 8/10.

But there is still room to improve for Ireland’s busiest airport.

The main area where Dublin airport fell down was the poor sentiment towards the airport on Twitter. In this category, the airport scored (5.02/10). We’re honestly not sure if this suggests a failing on the part of Dublin Airport, or if it’s just more evidence that Irish people love to have a could rant whenever they’re stuck in a queue.

Dublin couldn’t do enough to challenge the top three spots, which went to Hamad International Airport (Qatar), Athens International Airport (Greece) and Tokyo Haneda International Airport (Japan). The bottom two spots went to London’s Stansted Airport and Kuwait International Airport.

“Clearly Dublin airport is doing something right”, said AirHelp CEO and co-founder Henrik Zillmer. “But the sentiment on Twitter clearly indicates that there is more work to be done when it comes to consumer satisfaction.
