Dublin Bus, in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Dublin City Council (DCC), have announced changes to a number of their routes.

From Monday, January 29, a number of route changes will be implemented in the College Green area to try and alleviate some of the delays being experienced by customers travelling through the city centre.

Some of the routes will be realigned to improve the journey time for customers and facilitate a more effective movement of public transport services through the College Green area.

Routes 25, 25a, 25b, 25d, 37, 39, 39a and 70 travelling northbound/westbound will be rerouted via Tara Street and Burgh Quay. There will be no changes to the bus stops on these routes.

Routes 25x, 27x, 32x, 33x, 39x, 41x, 51x, 66x and 67x travelling inbound in the morning will be rerouted via Hawkins Street, Townsend Street and Westland Row. Some bus stops along these routes will be changed.

Dublin Chamber, the city’s largest business representative group, has welcomed plans to re-route some City Centre bus routes in a bid to alleviate public transport congestion around the College Green area.

The Chamber said the changes, which will see around 1 in 5 buses removed from College Green at peak times, will help reduce delays and improve inconsistent commute times for commuters.
