Dublin Bus has put 25 of its old double-decker vehicles up for sale

Stephen Porzio

Have you ever wanted to own a double-decker bus?

Well, now is your chance to make that very specific dream a reality as Dublin Bus has announced it has 25 of its old double-deckers up for sale.

According to the bus service’s website, all vehicles will be sold in roadworthy condition and with tires included – the latter, I would consider a necessity for driving.

All Dublin Bus livery, meanwhile, will be defaced and removed from the vehicles.

The buses on sale were registered in 2006 and have a Volvo D7C-215 engine and a fully electronic braking system.

The technical specification of the buses is “Volvo B7TL DD (Mark II) / Alexander (Falkirk) ‘ALX400’ Double Deck”.

The buses are being sold by tender, with bidders able to make an offer for one, some or all of the vehicles.

The closing date for the receipt of sealed bids is 14 June, 2021 at 12pm.

If you are interested in getting your hands on one of those double-deckers, visit Dublin Bus’ website here for more information.
