Some of the stolen Dublin Fire Brigade equipment has been returned

This is great to see.

Reports emerged on Sunday that two pieces of equipment were stolen from a Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) fire engine as they assisted with a cardiac arrest at a pub on Fassaugh Avenue in Cabra.

It now appears that one of the pieces of equipment, a DeWalt rescue saw, has been returned to the DFB.

“At lunchtime a tradesman contacted us to say that he had been offered the DeWalt rescue saw. After some persuasion, they convinced the “seller” to hand it over and subsequently dropped it back to Phibsborough Station.”

“We’d like to thank that person, and everyone for their support.”

Dublin Fire Brigade shared a photo of the returned rescue drill on their Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

Unfortunately, it seems as though the second piece of stolen equipment — of which the DFB have also provided a photograph — remains at large.

The DFB have issued a plea for information as to its whereabouts, writing “If you have seen, or know where the equipment is please get in contact.”

Anyone with any knowledge is advised to contact Dublin Fire Brigade on 01 222 4000 or email [email protected]

Alternatively, you can contact An Garda Síochána at any Garda Station.
