Dublin Fire Brigade has used their Twitter account to warn people about the dangers of cracks in their plug sockets.
The tweet, which features photos of damage done to the outside of sockets, explains that “cracking on the front can be a sign of heat building up due to bad connections.” This can lead to burning behind the socket.

The tweet also advises that anyone who smells smoke should get help.
