Dublin Fire Brigade battle blaze in Tallaght as fire warning issued for entire country

The warning was reclassified to orange on Tuesday evening.

The Rathfarnham Station (Delta 81) of the Dublin Fire Brigade tackled a vegetation fire in Tallaght on Tuesday night, as the risk of fire increases in the area.

Photographs posted to the official Dublin Fire Brigade Twitter account show a team of firefighters attempting to calm and control a fire that broke out off the Bohernabreena Road.

The fire risk in the area has been upgraded to status orange level as a result.

The terrain is still “tinder dry” according to an official Dublin Fire Brigade statement.

As of Tuesday, the orange high-risk forest fire warning is in general effect until midday on Friday 20 July.

People are advised to take care in grass and gorse areas, and to refrain from operating BBQ’s and open fires.

With warm weather expected to return this weekend, Dublin Fire Brigade notes that the Department of Agriculture will re-evaluate the situation on Friday.
