O’Connell Street was closed as a result.

A sizeable crowd attended a rally at The Spire on O’Connell Street in Dublin on Thursday afternoon, a rally organised after not guilty verdicts were delivered at the trial of four men in Belfast on Wednesday.

Those in attendance shouted slogans such as ‘We stand together, ‘I stand with her’, ‘We stand with her’, ‘We want justice’ and ‘Shoulder to shoulder’ at the rally, which caused O’Connell Street to close to traffic on Thursday afternoon.

Similar rallies planned for Belfast, Carlow, Cork, Derry, Limerick and Galway on Thursday also reported large crowds after Paddy Jackson, Stuart Olding, Blaine McIlroy and Rory Harrison were acquitted of all charges at Belfast Crown Court on Wednesday.
