All Valentine’s Day bookings were cancelled due to the closure.
The Exchequer Wine Bar in Ranelagh, Dublin has announced that it is shutting it’s doors after 15 years.
The announcement comes as a shock from one of the area’s most popular spots, renowned for its Spanish tapas and cocktails.
In a post to Instagram on Tuesday, the wine bar announced that it would be closing. They expressed their “deepest gratitude” to the “amazing staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work.”
Addressing their patrons they added: “Every moment we’ve spent together will be cherished forever.”

The Exchequer will be closing from 12th February.
After 15 incredible years in business, Peter and the team want to express our deepest gratitude to our amazing staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work.
To the wonderful community in Ranelagh, your support has meant the world to us.
We are profoundly grateful for the friendships we’ve built and the memories we’ve shared.
To our loyal customers, friends, and suppliers—your trust and support have made this journey truly unforgettable.
Every moment we’ve spent together will be cherished forever.
Though this chapter is closing, we will keep you updated on our future plans.

The restaurant also issued a notice to customers stating that they had to close their doors as soon as possible, so would have to cancel any Valentine’s Day bookings.
