Dublin shooting victim named as Derek Hutch

He was shot a number of times while sitting in his car on Saturday.

The hunt is continuing today for the gunman responsible for the latest gangland shooting in Dublin.

Derek Hutch, who was also known as Derek Coakley, was shot a number of times in the head as he sat in a car at the Bridgeview halting site on Saturday evening.

The scene remains sealed off today as forensic examinations are carried out.

A second scene was also sealed off where a burned out car, believed to be connected to the incident, was found a short time after the shooting.

Derek Hutch was known to Gardaí and had a number previous convictions including robbery.

He was aware that threats had been made against his life and had received a formal Garda information message of the threats against him according to RTÉ

His murder brings the number of people shot dead in the ongoing Kinahan-Hutch feud to 14.
