Over €110,000 in cash and 14 vehicles seized in Longford

A major haul in Longford.

Gardaí in Longford, supported by the Criminal Assets Bureau, have seized 14 vehicles and a significant amount of cash during searches on Monday morning.

A total of 16 searches were conducted. This included 12 residential premises, three commercial premises and one professional premises.

The premises in question were searched as part of an operation targeting an organised crime group involved in the sale and supply of drugs across the county.

Three caravans were seized, as well as 11 vehicles including a Mercedes, Skoda Kodiaq, Isuzu DMAX, Ford Ranger and a Toyota Land Cruiser.

€110,000 has been seized as well as £14,000, though no arrests were made.

Three power washers were also seized, as well as two watches and a number of designer handbags and footwear.

This search operation was in relation to an ongoing feud in the Longford area.

Members who are believed to be involved in this feud have amassed a large property portfolio as a result of the proceeds of their involvement in criminal activity.

Gardaí have said that operations are continuing.
