Details of the incident are currently unknown.
A finding which is believed to be part of an ear has been found in the south inner city of Dublin.
The grim discovery was made at approximately 9.45am on Wednesday morning. It's understood that the body part was found outside of an apartment complex.
A member of the public is believed to have raised the alarm. It is not yet known how much of the ear was found or the condition it was found in.
Gardaí are at the scene this morning conducting ongoing investigations.
