No tsunami alert has been issued.

The Indonesian island of Lombok – located next to the popular holiday destination of Bali – has been hit by a second strong earthquake on Sunday afternoon following the original earthquake which ravaged the island less than 24 hours ago. There was no immediate tsunami alert from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, and there have been no early reports of damage or casualties. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) initially reported a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that struck at a depth of 1km (0.62 miles), before downgrading its severity to 6.9 magnitude minutes later. The second hit 3km north-northwest of Kampungbaru in North Sumatra, measuring 5.9 magnitude at the depth of 35 km, USGS said. A source revealed to JOE that the earthquake's tremor could be felt as far as the nearby island of Bali. No injuries have been reported as of yet.
