Easter Weather Watch: there will be snow, but it won’t be as bad as we’d feared

Looks like we won’t be getting a White Easter after all.

We think we can all unanimously say that we’re kinda DONE with the bad weather, yeah?

With the sun staying out longer and those little moments of warmth in between sudden blasts of cold, Ireland is well and truly ready for Summer to arrive.

Actually, we’re ready for Spring to arrive.

Actually, we’re just ready for Winter to leave.

There had been reports that a Beast From The East 3.0 scenario was on the cards for Easter, potentially giving us snow outside as we’re all opening our chocolate eggs inside, but according to the latest predictions by Met Eireann, it looks like we’re missing out on the worst of that new bad weather (which will be hitting Scotland and Eastern England instead).

First of all, tonight (as in Wednesday night) looks to be the last truly bad weather day for a while, with temperatures dipping to as low as -2 in places, as flurries of snow expected to hit higher ground.

Thursday will see rain and sleet, and Thursday will see frost developing as the temperatures hover around -1.

Good Friday will see more rain, the temperatures raising slightly, but Friday night still brings frost warnings, especially for the West of the country.

But then… BUT THEN!

Saturday, Sunday and Monday will all bring slowly raising temperatures, with the sun and the rain fighting all day, and it is expected to get as high as 13 degrees by Monday afternoon.

Happy days!

(At least until the next weather warning…)
