Great news on the jobs front.

Telecommunications company Eir has announced the creation of 750 jobs in three different counties.

Eir announced the move at their location in Rathedmond, Co. Sligo. 350 of the new jobs created will also be based at the Rathedmond facility.

In addition to the 350 new jobs in the northwest, Eir has also announced the creation of 400 more jobs to be based in its regional centres in Limerick and Cork.

Eir has confirmed that a major motivation behind the decision was to expand their customer care services and move them in-house, rather than outsourcing the job to call centres.

The new jobs come on top of Eir’s announcement two months ago that it would be hiring 50 apprentices for the “largest broadband rollout programme in Europe”.
