A woman in her 80s has died in a house fire on Model Farm Road in Cork City on Monday night.
The Cork Fire Brigade has confirmed that the woman, who has not yet been publicly named, was 89. The Cork Fire Brigade appeared on the scene before 10pm yesterday evening and the woman was brought to Cork University Hospital, but died despite efforts to resuscitate her.
Newstalk has further reported that the Gardaí, who also reported to the scene, are not treating the fire as suspicious. The source of the fire has not yet been made public.
