Electric Picnic founder and concert promoter John Reynolds dead, age 52

Very sad news.

The family of famed concert promoter John Reynolds have announced that he passed away suddenly on Thursday evening.

Reynolds, originally from Longford, died at his home in Milltown on the evening of 25 October, according to a statement published tonight.

Reynolds, who was 52 at the time of his death, was perhaps best known for his role in setting up beloved Irish music festival Electric Picnic.

The statement further clarified that the Metropolis Festival, scheduled to take place this weekend (27 & 28 October) at the RDS in Dublin, will go ahead.

It further stated that funeral arrangements would be announced in the coming days and that the family is requesting privacy at this time.
