Eric Eoin Marques was surrendered to FBI agents at Dublin Airport.

An Garda Sióchána has confirmed that Eric Eoin Marques has been surrendered to FBI agents at Dublin Airport on Saturday morning.

The 33-year-old is believed to be the world’s biggest facilitator of child pornography and will now appear in court in the United States on Monday.

He has an Irish mother and has resided in Ireland during the time in which his alleged offences have taken place.

Furthermore, Marques’ personal home computer was seized in Ireland.

His extradition was sought by US officials over allegations that he conspired to distribute and advertise child pornography on the dark web.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court gave formal clearance to proceed with Marques’ extradition following a six-year legal battle to prevent his relocation.
