There may have been a delay to Friday night’s Euromillions draw, but it was worth the wait for five lucky Irish ticketholders.

Friday night’s Euromillions draw proved to be a particularly lucky one for Irish ticketholders, with at least five people – it is not yet known whether the winners were individuals or part of a syndicate – waking up on Saturday morning a combined €3 million wealthier.

There was one winner of the Euromillionaire Raffle, with the National Lottery revealing that the €1 million winning ticket was sold in an Eason store in Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork.

In the off-chance that you might have purchased your ticket there, the winning raffle number was I-DKB-06633 so best check it as soon as possible.

If that wasn’t good enough, there were also four winners of the top prize of €500,000 in the Euromillions Plus draw, tickets that were sold in the East, the South and the Midlands.

Granted, that doesn’t exactly narrow it down, so best check your tickets to see if your numbers correspond with the winning numbers on the night, which were 15, 33, 37, 39 and 48.

Irish participants didn’t have quite as much luck in the main draw, with two winning tickets – purchased in the UK and Spain – sharing the jackpot of €177,724,496, which works out at around €88,862,248 apiece.

Pretty nice news to wake up to of a Saturday morning.
