Expect some traffic delays around Dublin this morning

In a way, we could say finally, but in another…

Motorists in Dublin can expect some disruptions around the city centre this morning as the Luas Cross City line is being tested for the first time.

Traffic restrictions will be in place around O’Connell Street and College Green this morning as the line is tested.

A tram will move along the line at low speed as the trams were brought across from the Red Luas Line early on Saturday morning.

As can be seen above, this tram was spotted on the line this morning at around 8.30am

The aim of the testing to ensure trams run smoothly including things like the distance between the running rails and the separation between tracks being correct so that trams can move unhindered in both directions simultaneously.
