Facebook will open their Oculus office in Cork this year and they’ve already advertised the jobs

It’s a really exciting opportunity for someone.

Facebook-owned virtual reality company Oculus will open its new office in Cork city centre this year. The company is expected to set up shop on Grand Parade where they old Capitol Cinema used to be.

Oculus has got their recruitment drive underway already and they’ve posted nine Cork-based jobs on their website.

The roles in the hardware engineering and research side of things are as follow; Technical Program Manager, Processing Engineer, Research Scientist, Operations Program Manager, Hardware Engineer, Research Science Manager and Hardware Test Engineer.

There are also two intern positions up for grabs, the roles are advertised as Research Intern, Semiconductors Material Characterization (AFM) and Research Intern, III-V compound semiconductor materials & related devices.

According to the Evening Echo, “Staff will be working on the research and development of cutting-edge virtual reality technology, including the development and assembly of LED displays and screens.”
