With Friday's terrible events still at the forefront of Parisian minds, scenes of panic such as this are understandable.

A gathering of hundreds of people at the Place de la Republique quickly scattered when they mistakenly believed they had heard gunfire. Channel 4 were broadcasting live at the scene when it happened and captured some footage with the presenter Matt Frei remaining remarkably calm during the live broadcast.
