Thousands of Liverpool fans gathered outside of Anfield before today's game against Wolves to pay tribute to departing manager Jurgen Klopp
Supporters filled the streets with red flares and flags long before kick-off to welcome the team bus, creating a powerful scene.
Liverpool fans' affection for the German is undoubted, but Klopp has let it be known that their love is absolutely reciprocated.
Just yesterday, he created an Instagram account to thank them for their incredible support since he took charge back in October 2015.
"I would call it a love affair from the first day, it was an absolutely incredible time," Klopp said in a heartfelt video on Instagram.
“ I enjoyed it and I want to thank you so much for all the support you gave us over the years, all the power you gave us.
"It feels like we write a story together and that’s how it feels today.
“It’s a good book and if we read it in the future we will have a smile on our face.
“Leaving this incredible place is hard, but I want to stay in contact with you even though I’m not a social media guy."
Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher has been speaking about the legacy that Champions League and Premier League winner Klopp will leave behind after today.
"When you talk about replacing Klopp it's very hard to replace the man," he explained on Sky Sports.
"It's almost like his legacy will be the style of football. You go back to what Bill Shankly did, he set in a way of playing, principles that followed on for the next thirty or forty years.
"And who knows what it will be like with Jurgen afterwards[...]there is no better legacy."
