Farmers are being urged to take caution whilst working from heights.

Two farmers, one from Cork and one from Wicklow, have died in separate farming accidents this weekend.

According to RTÉ, a man in his 50s from west Cork died while repairing the roof of a shed which had been damaged due to the recent storms.

The man was using a teleporter to repair the roof near Clonakilty and it is understood that he fell from the teleporter and died at around lunchtime on Sunday afternoon.

This comes after a farmer in his 70s from Wicklow died following an accident in Kilmacanogue.

According to That’s Farming, the man was carrying out repairs on a roof when he fell from a ladder on Saturday afternoon.

The Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have begun investigations into the two incidents and farmers around the country are being urged to take caution whilst working from heights.
