Female cyclist dies after collision at popular tourist spot in Kerry

The cyclist collided with a 4 x 4 at the Gap of Dunloe.

Very sad news.

A woman in her 60s has died as a result of a road traffic collision at the Gap of Dunloe in Kerry on Tuesday afternoon.

A female cyclist in her 60s collided with a 4 x 4 vehicle at approximately 3pm on Tuesday afternoon and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 4 X 4 vehicle was uninjured.

The stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on (064 6671160), the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
