Gardaí issue witness appeal after filling station robbery in Longford

Burglars are believed to have spent several hours on the premises.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following the burglary of a filling station in Lanesboro, Longford that took place last month.

The incident occurred between 2am and 6am on Thursday 4 July.

Entry was gained by forcing a rear door and the burglars are believed to have spent some hours in the store.

A quantity of cigarettes, alcohol and cash was stolen and a considerable amount of damaged was caused in the process.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity on Thursday 4 July between 1am and 7am.

They are also appealing to motorists who were driving through Lanesboro during that time who may have dash cam footage.
